Today we will guide on How to Root and Install TWRP Recovery On Samsung Galaxy J2. TWRP Recovery is a Custom Recovery which is also known as TeamWin Recovery built with a touchscreen-enabled interface which allows users to install third-party firmware and backup the current system, which are often unsupported by stock recovery images.

PREREQUISITE

  • To flash a Custom Recovery, You need a Laptop or PC
  • Enable USB Debugging. Go to Settings > Developer Options > USB Debugging. If you can’t find Developer Options go to Settings > About Phone > Tap 7 times on Build Number and a message will show up “You are now a developer. Developer Options is now enabled.
  • Charge your phone to at least 70%
  • Take a full Backup your device just in case if you need it later
  • Download Click Here for root and Move it to internal memory on your phone
  • Install the Samsung USB DriversClick Here
  • Download and Extract the ODIN ZIP file on Desktop : Click Here

STEPS

1)Put Your Smartphone in Download Mode.(Hold Volume Down+Power Button+Home Button.

 

2)Now press Volume Up Button to Continue. 

3)Now Plug the USB Cable to Smartphone.

4)Now Start ODIN Software in Windows.

5)Click on the AP tab and select the recovery file(TWRP Downloaded File). Make sure the recovery has a .tar.md5 extension.

6)Now go to OPTION Tab and Uncheck Auto Reboot.

7)Click Start and wait for Odin to flash the file.

Whatever method you have chosen, the home TWRP recovery is now installed on your Galaxy J2. To Boot the phone into recovery press and hold Volume UP + Home + Power Button at the same time.

 

 

Now that you have installed TWRP recovery is pretty easy to root the phone. Here’s how to do it:
  • Turn off your phone and boot into recovery.
  • Tap on the install section and locate the SuperSU file you have already downloaded and put to your phone internal storage.
  • Swipe to confirm and flash the recovery.
  • Once it is flashed go back to recovery main menu and Wipe Cache and Dalvik Cache.
  • Go back to Recovery main menu and restart your phone.
When your phone is turned on, go to App drawer and you will see SuperSU installed. If it’s not, download it from Play Store.
